• Management of underwriting which includes assessment and managing of risks for the business to ensure we accept only quality business • Closely monitor all quotations to brokers agents and direct clients for closure • Ensure that the monthly renewal notices are processed, issued, dispatched, followed through for each confirmation • Participate in development of new products that are bespoke and suitable to our clients, and which give GA mileage in the market • The incumbent will ensure documentation is prepared correctly and released to customers within the standard of service for effective service delivery • Ensure that effective business relationships with all our stakeholders are maintained to assist in meeting overall company objective • Recommend for the conduct of Risk Surveys within the prescribed format and limits • Ensure adherence and compliance with regulatory and treaty requirements • In charge of signing of accountable documents to ensure that they are as per terms agreed • Prepare management reports • Participate in the arrangement of reinsurance programm to ensure adequate treaty facility • Provide supervision, training, coaching and mentoring the underwriting function for effective service delivery and motivation of staff

• At least 5 years in underwriting dept but 3 years in a senior role • Relevant Degree in Business preferably in insurance • Diploma in insurance ACIl or Equivalent • Required Skills • Knowledge on market trends • Management/leadership skills • Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision • Good negotiation and influencing skills. • Strong networking and relationship skills. • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills. • Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
