GLOFORD Uganda is implementing the Wealth from Waste Project that aims to address youth unemployment and inadequate waste management in Uganda’s cities of Lira, Gulu and Soroti.
The project aims at establishing sustainable, market-driven waste recycling chains, creating at least 300 decent jobs through innovative recycling initiatives, vocational training, and business incubation.
Using the Job Booster approach, GLOFORD Uganda is planning to empower youth and women to turn waste into economic opportunity and skills to start or join businesses that transform plastic, organic, and agricultural waste into valuable products.
GLOFORD Uganda invites qualified individuals and consultancy firms to submit Expressions of Interest to deliver a training for Existing entrepreneurs/Wastepreneurs
Objective of the Assignment
The training aims to strengthen the capacity of Existing Entrepreneurs operating within the waste value chain by equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to improve business performance, sustainability, and innovation.
Scope of Work
The selected trainers) will design and deliver an interactive training covering the following key modules:
- Business Development
- Financial Planning and Management
- Product Innovation
- Customer Relations and Retention
- Integrated Life Skills (e.g., communication, leadership, problem-solving)
- Mentorship of Wasteprenuers
The training should be practical, participatory, and tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs in waste management and recycling sectors.
Target Participants
100 Participants (30:40:30) existing entrepreneurs engaged in waste value chain activities in the three Cities of Soroti, Lira and Gulu respectively.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested applicants (individuals or firms) should demonstrate:
GLOFORD Uganda reserves the right to accept or reject any application without obligation to provide reasons.
- Proven experience in delivering entrepreneurship or business-related trainings
- Expertise in at least two of the thematic areas listed above
- Experience working with MSMEs, startups, or community-based enterprises
- Knowledge or experience in waste management, recycling, or circular economy is an added advantage
- Strong facilitation and curriculum development skills
Deliverables
- Training curriculum and materials
- Training report including participant feedback and recommendations
- Development of Simple training manuals
- Develop Training Reports there after
