• Set up and operate surface grinding machines to grind workpieces to the • required specifications. • Select appropriate grinding wheels and adjust machine settings such as speed, • feed, and depth of cut. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications. • Measure and inspect finished workpieces using micrometres, callipers, and other • precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grinding machines. • Ensure grinding wheels are properly dressed and replaced when necessary. • Follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment • (PPE). • Monitor grinding operations to detect any issues or irregularities in the process. • Adjust machine settings to improve productivity and ensure quality output. • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used. • Perform any other duties which may be required by management.

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related • field is an advantage. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Surface Grinding Machine Operator in a • manufacturing or metalworking environment. • Knowledge & Skills: • ➢ Basic knowledge in English (verbal and written) • ➢ Good knowledge of applicable standards, local rules and regulations • ➢ Understands Ugandan traffic laws and regulation. • ➢ Ability to work under pressure.
