CIYOTA
CIYOTA operates a strong and dynamic Scholarship Programme to increase access to quality education for refugee and host community youth. The programme provides learners with comprehensive financial and academic support through work-study opportunities, direct educational grants, and connections to individual and institutional sponsors. This support enables students to overcome economic barriers that often impede their educational journey, empowering them to strive for academic excellence and long-term self-sufficiency.
Target Beneficiaries: The scholarship targets young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are either boys, girls, refugee/displaced youth, and youth with disability in Uganda.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Performance
Students should demonstrate good academic performance with Division 1 or 2 in previous class. Minimum aggregates: 18 for boys and 20 for girls in PLE. A-Level students must have acquired minimum of 12 points from previous exam results.
Financial Need
Students should demonstrate high financial need and vulnerability based on family income levels and personal circumstances.
Character Reference
Students must provide a recommendation from a reputable person attesting to good conduct, morals, and character in the community.
Community Involvement
Applicants should demonstrate participation in school or community activities such as clubs, leadership roles, or volunteer activities.
