DRC Uganda is currently looking for highly qualified and motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as Protection Officers-Child Protection (03)
The overall purpose of the role:
The Child Protection Officer will support the implementation of child protection activities, ensuring quality case management services for children at risk, including unaccompanied and separated children (UASC). The role holder will provide technical guidance to Child Protection case workers, prevention and capacity-building assistants to ensure adherence to child protection standards and procedures, oversee support to interim care arrangements while family tracing is ongoing and contribute to strengthening community mechanisms for safe identification and referral of children at risk. He/she will also support awareness raising on child protection risks and orientation of caregivers on positive parenting practices.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and protection programming experience, and/or advocacy programs. Moreover, we also expect the following.
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Social work and social administration, Development studies, Guidance and counselling or any related field.
- Professional experience in Child Protection.
- Experience in protection interventions in line with Refugees operation with wide Child Protection.
- Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Good self-organization and basic management skills.
- Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects desired.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the local languages spoken by South Soudanese and Congolese refugee communities.
