DRC Uganda is currently looking for highly qualified and motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as Protection Assistants-Women & Girl Safe Spaces. (05)
The overall purpose of the role:
The Protection Assistant-Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) will support the safe and effective functioning of Women and Girls Safe Spaces in the settlement under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader and technical guidance of the GBV Officer. The role holder will ensure that WGSS operate in line with GBV minimum standards, that protection principles are respected, and that women and girls accessing the spaces receive appropriate support and safe referrals to specialized services when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in GBV case management or protection programming. Moreover, we also expect the following.
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Development studies, Gender studies, Community psychology, guidance and counselling or any related field.
- Experience working with survivors of violence in humanitarian or community settings.
- Strong interpersonal and empathetic communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- Basic understanding of GBV concepts and survivor-centered approaches.
- Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Counselling skills and case management
- Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations.
- Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects.
- Familiarity with UNHCR ProGres V4 Module.
- Ability to Ride a motorcycle with Valid Riding Permit.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the local languages spoken by south sudanese and Congolese refugees’ communities.
