Activities
At all times the job holder will:
• Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE, and
implement and control HSE rules and requirements within their area of
responsibility.
• Develop, implement and maintain procedures, means and tools to ensure
the efficient organisation and operation of the scheduling, progress
control and reporting activities.
• Define (and update as necessary) a suitable Work Breakdown Structure
complying with Project needs in terms of progress control, cost control
and reporting, for all phases of the Project.
• Liaise with Cost Controllers to ensure consistency of information.
• Develop, update and revise the overall Package schedules as required by
Package Management, and provide analyses and simulations of new
schedules as required.
• Assist Package Management to review and comment on contractors’
procedures and schedules, scheduling and progress control methodology;
monitor contractors’ execution schedules; and check and approve
contractors’ progress measurement and progress reports.
• Analyse and perform ‘what-if’ simulations and propose corrective actions
when Project milestones are threatened.
• Consolidate Ugandan content man-hours from the package.
• Define (and update as necessary) a suitable Monthly Report structure
complying with Concessionaire/Partners and Project needs.
• Perform the reporting activities as informed and directed by the EPC
Project Controls Leader.
• Develop the Project Monthly Report / Project Weekly Report (and any
other report as requested) during all phases of the Project, as directed by
the Services Leader.
• Generally, support Package and Construction Management on all matters
related to scheduling, progress reporting and general reporting, and
manage all activities related to scheduling and reporting (as directed).
• Report in a timely manner to the Project Control Leader and the Lead
Planner, highlighting progress and areas of concern.
Person Specification
Education, Training,
Skills & Experience
Qualification:
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in an Engineering discipline or
Construction Technology area.
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in projects, with a minimum of 5 years’
experience in planning of projects in Oil & Gas and/or Infrastructure
related industries.
• Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project and Primavera. Well-
developed analytical and reporting skills.
• Able to coordinate and work with other teams, with basic multi-
disciplinary knowledge.
• Able to work on their own initiative and proactively interact with discipline
teams to obtain information.
• Able to react quickly and decisively to constantly changing demands and
circumstances, and to identify, analyse and solve problems within the
scope of the role.
• Ability and willingness to effectively and robustly challenge the views of
contractors and internal contacts.
