A successful candidate will have the following:
Under the supervision and the leadership of the Country Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Manager, the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer will provide support for projects in Area Programs by overseeing data collection, collation, and analysis. The role supports the overall M&E strategy, framework for the WASH, Climate and Environment Programme. and capacity building in Area Programs, with primary responsibilities including evaluations, assessments, performance monitoring, adaptive management by interpreting and sharing learning for ongoing project improvement and deriving actionable insights. The M&E officer will work closely with Area Program teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure M&E processes are effectively integrated into project cycles and organizational strategies and aligned with organizational standards and donor expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Public Health, Health Records, Social Science, Statistics, project management, community development or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a role with significant learning, knowledge management and/or data analysis, interpretation and usage responsibilities Experience working with NGOs funded projects (e.g. USAID, UNICEF, EU, etc.) is an asset.

- Strong facilitation skills
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Good understanding of project planning, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation processes.
- Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, organizational relationships, social and cultural constraints and realities, and environmental condition.
- Knowledge of statistical computer packages e.g. SPSS, STATA, EPI-INFO, Power BI, or similar.
- Experience with digital data collection tools (ODK, Kobo, Survey-CTO).
- Knowledge on GIS is an added advantage and excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly organized and able to multitask. What you’ll do…
