• Participate in blood sample collection (Phlebotomy) and provide accurate instructions for self-collected samples (e.g., sputum, urine, stool). • Document all collected and received samples promptly in designated laboratory registers and electronic information systems. • Perform daily QA/QC for laboratory procedures and periodic maintenance of laboratory equipment as per SOPs and QA/QC guidelines. • Maintain equipment validation, calibration, quality control documentation, and routine/periodic preventive maintenance. • Implement Laboratory Quality Management Systems to ensure accurate and reliable results. • Proficiently conduct assays, including: • General Microscopy for Malaria, hemoparasites, urine, stool, and ZN smear microscopy per SOPs. • Operating automated lab equipment for blood chemistries, hematology, CD4 counts, etc., as per SOPs. • Multiplexed testing on the GeneXpert system for TB, HPV, EID, Viral Load, and other HIV-related tests (Serum Crag, TB LAM, HIV rapid testing). • Conduct blood tests for transfusion purposes. • Identify and communicate urgent/critical results immediately to supervisory personnel and clinicians. • Process test results by accurately completing laboratory report forms, documenting in registers and electronic systems, and ensuring timely release. • Perform external quality assurance (EQA) activities by running EQA panels and acting on results for continuous quality improvement. • Monitor and track logistical requirements to ensure adequate laboratory supplies, liaising with the Laboratory Manager for reliable reagent supply lines. • Follow safety guidelines strictly, maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment. • Maintain confidentiality of all laboratory information. • Perform other duties as assigned.

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution. • Licensed by the Allied Health Professional’s Council. • At least 2 years of working experience in a busy diagnostic laboratory environment. • Evidence of prior training and experience in relevant techniques is an added advantage. • Personal Attributes & Physical Ability: • Professional communication skills (written, verbal, or other appropriate means). • Ability to lift laboratory supplies after delivery to hospital premises. • Ability to permanently reside in Luwero/Nakasongola. • Ability to frequently travel to MUWRP PEPFAR-supported sites in Luwero and Nakasongola. • Supervisory Controls • The incumbent will serve under the immediate supervision of the Laboratory Technologist.
