Job Summary
The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing all human resource functions for DCA Uganda. The role ensures effective recruitment, staff development, performance management, and staff welfare in compliance with DCA policies and Ugandan labour laws, contributing to the achievement of the country programme objectives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage recruitment, onboarding, and staff lifecycle processes in compliance with DCA policies and Ugandan labour law.
- Oversee performance management, including the Employee Development Review (EDR) process.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards across the organisation.
- Lead staff learning and development, including training planning and mandatory trainings.
- Support staff well-being, employee relations, and a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Manage HR data, payroll support, insurance schemes, and coordination with HQ HR and field HR staff.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ HR experience in an international NGO, with at least 3 years at senior or management level.
- Strong knowledge of Uganda labour laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and drive continuous improvement.
