• Provides the necessary advice to the Site Supervisors on on-site health and safety issues. • Monitors compliance with the Project and Company’s Occupational Health and Safety policies by conducting regular inspections and internal auditing of site activities. • Monitor compliance with established site safety rules and make sure these are conspicuously posted. • Undertakes, as a minimum, a weekly safety inspection and prepares a report for submittal and review with the Site Manager. This report is also transmitted to the HSE Coordinator • Conduct a daily tour of the working areas and log details of the observations on the Daily Observation Register. Unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are to be reported immediately. • Report immediately to the Site Manager any serious safety breaches that place workers in life-threatening situations. • Assist the Site Manager, Construction Manager, and Construction Supervisor in undertaking risk assessments and identifying safe systems of work to be recorded in safe work method statements. • Develop and deliver internal training courses on health and safety topics to the site team. • Undertake a daily Toolbox Talk with site-assigned personnel and ensure that records are maintained of the talks. • Assist Construction Supervisors in delivering Pre-Task Briefings to the workforce on the control measures identified in risk assessments and the safe system of work to be adhered to • Develop and deliver the Site Safety Orientation Training for all workers, including Subcontractors and visitors before starting work or visiting the site. • Complete the incident notification and investigations and issue the report to the Site Manager, HSE Coordinator, and HSE Manager • Audit the registers and permit systems maintained for lifting equipment, lifting accessories, excavations, confined spaces, hot works, Lock-out/Tag-out, etc. • Provide weekly input of H&S statistics and data to HSE Coordinator

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, or other equivalent and relevant qualifications from recognized institutions • Occupational Health and Safety certifications are an added advantage. • Minimum professional experience of 5 years as HSSE Officer or Engineer • Strong knowledge of the environmental and health, and safety basic regulatory and legal framework • Good computer skills – MS Excel and MS Word • Highly organized and detail-oriented • Occupational Health and Safety or Risk Management • Working knowledge of National Occupational Health and Safety Act legislation and regulations • Passionate about health and safety • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude • Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques and the ability to read and interpret. • Proactive problem-solver that can manage difficult situations with positive results.
