Description
Reporting to the Head of Data & Insights, the role is responsible for using scientific, or statistical techniques to make predictions, solve complex business problems, and identify opportunities to grow / optimize the business based on insights derived from sifting through data points to create organized categories, and prepare recommendations for the business.
Duty Station: Head Office
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Identifying relevant data sources for business needs.
- Collecting structured and unstructured data.
- Sourcing missing data.
- Organizing data into usable formats.
- Building predictive models.
- Processing, cleansing & verifying of data.
- Analyzing data for trends and patterns and to find answers to specific questions.
- Assess quality of data and cleanse data to support decisioning.
- Data discovery – Unlocking opportunities, generating information and insights from data sets to identify trends and patterns.
- Preparing reports for executive and project teams.
- Data storytelling – provide actionable insights from data using data visualizations.
- Collaboration with the Data Protection Officer: provide support for the execution of key deliverables for the Personal Data Protection Office including training staff on personal data protection practices.
- Data breach management: Identify any data breaches and develop strategies to mitigate against breach occurrence including loss or misuse of personal data.
Develop automated tracking mechanisms to support reporting and identification of data breaches across the enterprise.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Statistics, Software Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Development or Information Technology related field.
- Graduated within the last three (3) years.
- Certification in; Data Science, Big Data or Data Analytics, Data analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Protection or any Data related field would be an added advantage.
- The job holder should have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in Data Management, Data Science and Analytics.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or other Data Analytics tools is an added advantage.
