KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Development of the Preliminary Report and Action Plan (~70%) • Work closely with the GAHP Program Manager and Uganda National Coordinator to implement a review of the Agriculture Policies in the context of pollution, GEDSI, and Human Health. • Draft a comprehensive policy review report with poverty /GESI-focused actionable recommendations. • Align project initiatives with Uganda’s existing frameworks, identify gaps, and integrate poverty and GESI considerations for targeted interventions. • Conduct desk reviews of Uganda’s waste management and agricultural strategies and policies. Include how these policies address or impact poverty, gender equality, and socially excluded groups. • Identify policy gaps where women, youth, and marginalized communities are disproportionately affected by pollution. • Prepare, draft, review, and disseminate the comprehensive policy review report with poverty /GESI-focused actionable recommendations. • Assist in the development of a roadmap/work plan for the next program phase with the GEDSI approach. • Fundraising (~10%) • Assist GAHP staff in presenting the comprehensive policy review report with poverty /GESI-focused actionable recommendations to partners and donors. • Administrative (~10%) • Feed important GAHP program information to the Communications team for inclusion in GAHP newsletters, blogs, and reports. • Help prepare and review all project documents and presentations • Process expense reports. • Additional tasks as relevant.
