About Esonga

Esonga Menstrual Care is a Ugandan female health and hygiene enterprise. We run the Esonga Hygiene Kiosk and a mobile hygiene kiosk, supply pads, reusable pads, menstrual cups and dignity kits, and serve schools and communities across Eastern Uganda.

Position opening

As our sales and institutional orders grow, we are looking for a careful, hands-on Finance Officer to keep our books clean, our cash controlled and our taxes on time.

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will run day-to-day finance for Esonga: recording every shilling, reconciling cash, bank and mobile money, following up receivables, and preparing monthly reports the CEO can act on.

REQUIREMENTS

Education. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. CPA(U) or ACCA (complete or progressing) an advantage.

Experience. Minimum 2 years in accounts, ideally in trading, FMCG, distribution or a social enterprise.

Systems. Confident with QuickBooks or similar, Excel, and mobile money statements.

Compliance. Working knowledge of URA returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT) and NSSF.

Integrity. Trusted with cash and confidential data.

Based in or willing to relocate to Jinja City.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Books & Reporting

Daily bookkeeping of sales and expenses.

Monthly accounts and management report.

Budget tracking against plan.

Cash, Bank & Mobile Money

Daily cash and kiosk handover checks.

Weekly bank and mobile money reconciliation.

Petty cash with receipts and approvals.

Receivables & Payables

Invoices to schools, partners and agents.

Debt follow-up until paid.

Supplier payments on approved terms.

Tax, Stock & Audit

URA and NSSF returns on time.

Stock valuation and product costing.

Clean files for audit and funders.
