Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Gulu, Uganda

Industry: Microfinance, Financial Services

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and prepare financial statements, management reports and reconciliations.
• Monitor daily cash flows, banking transactions and petty cash, and reconcile loan disbursements and repayments.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and periodic financial performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with URA, NSSF and other statutory obligations.
• Support internal and external audits, and safeguard financial data integrity.

Person Specifications

• 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance, ideally within microfinance or financial services.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally or similar ERP) and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, integrity and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) – Level 3 completed.
