KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement strategies to expand farm operations and increase profitability of the following crops; maize, soya beans, sorghum, cassava, groundnuts and horticulture crops. • Plan and implement a crop rotation system to maximize yields. • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and coordinate machinery, chemical use, irrigation, and labor within the farming area. • Collaborate with the agronomy department to ensure timely execution of pest, disease, and weed control programs, and secure agricultural inputs as needed. • Plan, manage, and monitor labor activities to ensure productivity and efficiency in the field. • Oversee inventory and ensure regular restocking of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other critical supplies. • Conduct post-season yield analysis to evaluate performance and provide recommendations to the directors. • Develop comprehensive farm management plans, including production schedules, resource allocation, and quality control measures. • Lead, manage, and coordinate farm staff, fostering teamwork and ensuring optimal performance. • Monitor and analyze production data to identify improvement areas and optimize yields. • Maintain full compliance with industry standards and certifications such as GlobalGAP, GRASP, and SMETA.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• A degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field. • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in farm management, focusing on crop production and operational efficiency. • Strong knowledge of crop rotation, pest control, soil health management, and modern agricultural practices. • Proven experience managing budgets, resources, and labor in a large-scale farming environment. • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams. • Proficiency in analyzing production data and implementing improvement strategies. • Familiarity with industry regulations and certification requirements (GlobalGAP, GRASP, SMETA).
