KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading the implementation of Redeem’s impact evaluation strategy for your assigned casework team
• Liaising with local council leaders and other authorities to identify individual widows to be surveyed
• Conducting surveys to determine the prevalence of property grabbing victimization among sampled widows
• Collecting relevant data about survey participants (demographics, marital status, land ownership, abuse, etc.)
• Ensuring that all data collected meets Redeem’s quality standards and is provided in a timely manner
• Entering collected data into appropriate databases to inform program improvement and decision making
• Ensuring survey participants are properly referred to Redeem for potential case intake as Redeem clients
• Collaborating with the team to ensure that referrals are appropriately assessed and communicated with
• Supporting data collection efforts in other Redeem project areas as needed
• Performance Monitoring (10%)
• Conducting focus group discussions to measure deterrence within communities
• Conducting data collection for additional non-casework program indicators as required
• Partnering with the Casework Admin in analyzing and monitoring the quality of performance data
• Providing updates and analysis to the Team Lead and Director of M&E on performance data as requested
• Ensuring functionality and team use of the M&E system
• Responding to ad-hoc data requests as needed
• Miscellaneous (10%)
• Communicating with donors, supporters, media, and other outside parties about Redeem’s work
• Contributing to the review and design of organizational systems, guidelines, and policies
• Participating in Redeem’s professional development and spiritual formation activities
• Supporting other teams within Redeem in the achievement of their objectives
• Performing clerical duties (photocopying, filing, posting, errands, etc.) as needed
• Completing other duties as assigned
• Reporting and Location
• The Data Officer will report to the Director of Monitoring & Evaluation with dotted line reporting to the Team Lead
• The position will be based in Tororo with occasional travel to Kampala and other districts of operation

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Redeem is looking for a highly skilled and responsible individual who will reflect these values while providing impact evaluation and paralegal support to Redeem’s efforts in Uganda.Specific Attributes Experience
• Required: A degree in statistics, population studies, economics, development studies, or related discipline
• Required: At least three years of professional experience in M&E, research, and data management
• Required: Experience with conducting surveys and data collection
• Preferred: Experience in qualitative research
• Preferred: Experience in using electronic data collection applications (e.g., ODK, Kobo Collect)
• Preferred: Experience using cloud-based data collection tools, platforms, and systems
• Preferred: Experience working in start-up, international, matrixed, and/or faith-based organizations
• Skills
• Required: Fluency in English, Japadhola, Ateso, Lunyole, and Kiswahili with excellent written and oral communication in all
• Required: Data management with impeccable attention to accuracy and detail
• Required: Computer literacy with strong capacity in word processing, email, and other systems
• Preferred: Understanding of Google Business Suite and digital project management tools
