KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Customs Declaration Management:
• Supervise and oversee the preparation and submission of import, export, and transit declarations in compliance with customs regulations in the department.
• Ensure all required documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, certificates of origin, etc.) are complete and accurate before submission.
• Monitor customs entry processes to ensure timely clearance of shipments and address any issues that may arise.
• Keep up to date with customs laws, trade regulations, and tariff changes to ensure full compliance.
• Supervise a team of customs clerks and declaration officers, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency in their work.
• Assign and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and balanced workloads within the team.
• Utilize customs declaration software (e.g., ASYCUDA), or company-specific platforms) to process declarations efficiently.
• Maintain proper records of all customs declarations, ensuring they are easily retrievable for audits or compliance checks.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
• Professional certification or diploma in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or trade compliance
• 5+ years of experience in customs declarations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with import/export documentation and procedures across multiple regions (if applicable)
• Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade compliance.
• Proficiency in customs declaration systems and software (e.g., ASYCUDA and other regional platforms)
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with customs authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
