KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver quality counselling services (pre-test, post-test, adherence support, intensive adherence counselling). • Assess patients for HIV Testing Services (HTS) and provide psychosocial care. • Empower patients with skills for self-reliance and succession planning. • Conduct CMEs at facilities and communities based on training needs. • Support facility/community volunteers on HIV/AIDS and TB awareness and document success stories. • Provide health education talks on HIV prevention and related issues. • Conduct home visits to clients and families. • Offer index client counselling and testing to household members. • Support linkage volunteers in connecting clients to health and social services. • Document outputs in relevant MOH data capture tools. • Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on HIV/AIDS and TB indicators. • Participate in facility and program meetings as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Education: Diploma in Nursing or Counselling from a recognized institution. • Experience: At least 1 year in HIV counselling in a busy clinical setting. • Skills: • Mentorship, counselling, and communication skills. • Knowledge of adverse events following circumcision and related complications. • Confidentiality, empathy, and teamwork. • Ability to communicate in East Central region dialects (Lusoga, Lugweri, Swahili, Samia, Luganda). • Requirements: • Willingness to travel and provide care at selected facilities and outreaches. • Ability to work and live in rural areas.
