KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Mobilize and engage local communities in project activities, including formation and support of Farmer Field Schools (FFS), Farmer Market Schools, and Climate Smart Agriculture groups.
• Facilitate community-based conflict analysis and consensus building on local issues that affect climate resilience and livelihoods.
• Support the establishment and strengthening of community groups for holistic natural resource management practices.
• Organize and facilitate community sensitization sessions, barazas, and dialogue meetings to promote project objectives.
• Build strong working relationships with local leaders, district stakeholders, and other key actors for smooth project implementation.
• Mentor and support community groups, ensuring sustainability and continued learning through field visits and coaching.
• Assist communities in planning and implementing small-scale community adaptation initiatives.
• Collect relevant field data, case studies, success stories, lessons learned, and provide regular updates to the Project Coordinator.
• Ensure quality, timely reporting on activities and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Promote participation of vulnerable groups including women, IDPs, and host communities in all project activities.
• Adhere to organizational safeguarding policies and ensure community engagement processes are inclusive and participatory.
• Perform basic financial accountability related to field activities, ensuring proper documentation and submission to the Project Coordinator.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator for effective project delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Minimum of a Diploma in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or a related field. Bachelors’ degree in those areas will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of field experience in community mobilization, development work, or similar roles (working with NGOs or community-based projects is an advantage).
• Must be fluent in English and at least one local language spoken in the duty station (Acholi, Karamojong, or related dialects).
• Good skills in community mobilization, engagement, and participatory facilitation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision while maintaining accountability.
• Willingness and ability to be fully field-based in the assigned district.
• Possess a valid motorcycle riding permit and ability to ride in rough terrain.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact well with people of different backgrounds.
• Ability to document activities accurately and report in a timely manner.
• Basic understanding of climate change adaptation, livelihoods improvement, or community resilience will be an added advantage.
• High level of integrity, honesty, and respect for diversity and inclusion.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
