• An excellent opportunity exists for you to join The Aga Khan University, in the role of Communications Specialist. The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda. • Develop an annual communications plan and budget. • Content development for different communications materials and platforms. • Management of the website and social media channels. • Coordination of crisis management communications. • KEY RESULT AREAS: • Draft, implement, and evaluate internal and external communications plans to support communications priorities. • Build strong strategic internal and external communication plans for AKU, Uganda. • Support media relations and event communications that will raise the profile of the University and its hospital locally and regionally. • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with journalists, media houses, and bloggers in Uganda. • Effective mentorship and coaching of internal stakeholders and teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or equivalent, from a recognized university. • Three to five years’ experience in marketing, communications, media relations, public relations, or related fields. • Professional marketing qualification such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or any other relevant professional qualification, will be an added advantage. • Proficiency in Luganda will be an added advantage.
