The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategy
• Lead the development of short and long-term financial objectives, ensuring alignment with Jubilee Group standards.
• Coordinate budget processes and financial evaluations for strategic initiatives, M&A activities, and new operations.
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making and foster relationships with financial institutions to optimize partnerships.
• Accounting
• Implement new accounting standards (e.g., |FRS 17) and monitor their impacts.
• Work with internal and external auditors and actuaries to ensure compliance and accurate valuations.
• Manage the finance team’s performance against budget targets.
• Controlling and Reporting
• Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial data, comparing actual performance with budget and industry benchmarks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and maintain effective financial controls.
• Advise the CEO and Board on financial matters and ensure sound financial management practices.
• Compliance
• Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure adherence to industry standards and internal policies.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
• Leadership and People
• Provide transformational leadership and build a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a corporate culture that supports ethical practices, employee motivation, and development.
• Ensure adequate recruitment, training, and succession planning within the finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Strong knowledge of life insurance industry practices, products, and regulatory requirements.
• Strategic, performance-driven individual with excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in risk management, financial planning, and reporting, with a proven record of revenue growth.
• Relevant Experience
• Master’s in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Bachelor’s in Finance or related field.
• CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, particularly in regulated environments, with a focus on the insurance sector.
