KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sales and Business Development
• Drive the acquisition of new Institutional business through preparation, submission and follow-up of competitive proposals (RFPSs) for Pension Fund management and related Retirement services.
• Formulate and contribute to the development and delivery of a successful business development strategy for the Institutional and Retail business.
• Co-ordinate the expansion of distribution channels by engaging established and emerging intermediaries.
• Provide oversight over the implementation of client Financial Literacy trainings and initiatives to achieve the business’ growth objectives.
• Lead the implementation and oversight of all business development strategic initiatives for both the corporate and retail business to aid business acquisition.
• Co-ordinate client relationship management activities for the retention of existing clients (Institutional and Retail)
• Participate in Institutional and Retail product development by maintaining customer insights and market intelligence and periodically reviewing existing pension products to enhance proposition
• Develop relationships with the Institutional portfolio of clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders to promote business acquisition and retention
• Continuously review and benchmark our pitch/proposal documents so that they remain relevant and compliant with standards
• Promote up-selling and cross-selling of our products to our clients
• Develop innovative partnerships and distribution channels to increase market penetration.
• Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, client needs and competitor activities to provide market intelligence and aid strategic decision making.
• Drive the business development strategy, client growth and retention, and overall supervision of both Institutional and retail divisions.
• Optimizing company sales channels while empowering the teams, e.g. through training, performance appraisals and incentives.
• Marketing
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of all marketing collateral for our products, including preparing relevant content for website upload and maintenance.
• Introduce the company to prospective clients through electronic and written channels
• Follow through our marketing campaigns with group marketing and communication teams.
• Build relationship and maintain close contact with all market intermediaries (Scheme Administrators, Custodians, Trustees)
• Coordinate the preparation, implementation, and execution of strategic marketing plans in support of the corporate strategy.
• Participate in the selection of corporate gifts and promotions for the institutional clients.
• Lead in logistical preparations for client and business partner engagement forums e.g. Teleka Umbrella Fund AGMs, client breakfasts /dinners, Investment conferences etc.
• Client Servicing
• Ensure all clients experience a responsive, efficient and positive service at all times by adhering to agreed timelines and setting realistic client expectations.
• Develop strong customer relationships in order to retain and generate high volume of prospective business
• Respond to all client enquiries/needs/instructions received through calls, walk-ins, email etc.
• Ensure an excellent level of customer service is maintained at all times to all customers.
• Develop creative strategies to receive customer feedback for action and incorporation in the growth plan.
• Reporting
• Prepare and present detailed periodic sales reports, forecasts and progress to senior management.
• Follow through and report status of all referral business leads given by management and other sources within the group.
• Monitor and present production figures on a monthly basis to ensure that production is in line with strategic plans
• Report on weekly sales activities and pipelines for all company products.
• Relationship management
• Build, maintain and support positive relationships between customers and the company through persuading and or reassuring customers where necessary.
• Build and manage relationships with key distribution channels and Intermediaries to promote product penetration in Banks and related Agencies, Wealth Managers, Financial Planners etc.
• Occasional Duties
• Keep abreast with changing customer needs, developments in the local, regional and global financial markets, and international best practise in order to seize opportunities that come with agility.
• Attend training and development initiatives so as to improve competency and job performance.
• Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as may be delegated by the organization.
• Perform any other duties reasonably requested of the Business Development Manager.
• Ensure the function has the most appropriate people capability through people development and optimized succession planning

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Accounting or any other related field.
• Details of experience
• At least three (3) years of Business development experience in Fund management or related Financial Services provider.
• Knowledge, skills and competences
• Strong prospecting skills and previous experience in working with Marketing to creating communication plans (emails templates, phone calls etc.), conducting prospecting campaigns.
• Strong sales and networking skills with the ability to generate own pipeline and close sales
• Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to write reports and prepare relevant supporting documentation.
• High level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships
• Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with people at all levels in the organization
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrable closing ability in winning sales campaigns, closing late stage deals, developing reasons for prospects and overcoming late stage deal obstacles
• Customer-oriented mentality with good business sense.
