KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, and residential solar energy markets to drive market penetration and growth. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders in the solar energy industry to explore C&I projects across the region. • Lead the negotiation and closing of high-value deals and contracts with clients, partners, and stakeholders. • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities. • Participate in the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and presentations. • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance) to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects. • Build and nurture key relationships with strategic developers and EPCs in the region. • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for solar products and services. • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. • Maintain and monitor a sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met. • Ensure compliance with local regulations, policies, and industry standards. • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and proposal to implementation and post-project evaluation. • Represent Chloride Exide Ltd at industry events, identify and cultivate important partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. PMP & T3 is an added advantage. • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally in the energy or solar sector. • Solid understanding of the Ugandan energy landscape, including policy, regulation, and rural electrification initiatives. • Proven track record in driving growth and closing deals in B2B and/or B2C markets. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Strong network within the renewable energy ecosystem in Uganda & surrounding region is a significant advantage.
