• Installs new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating and testing performance • Supervises new equipment installation by third parties • Maintains equipment by following preventive maintenance assignments, conducting tests and troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions • Carries out equipment operation demonstrations, instructing the healthcare staff about correct use of equipment and its care • Helps to evaluate proposals for new equipment • Contributing to the preparation of biomedical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends • Any other duties that may be assigned

• Is able to install, maintain and repair most biomedical machines • Consults technical manuals and knows how to read technical drawings of biomedical machines • Has knowledge of how to use a computer for machines diagnostics • Familiar with Microsoft Office package (especially Word and Excel). • Able to use technical equipment for diagnosis, testing, calibration and repair of biomedical machines (e.g. insulation tester) • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field from a recognized institution. • 2-3 years’ working experience in a medical equipment environment. • Familiarity with healthcare safety regulations and medical equipment standards. • Experience in equipment calibration and safety testing is an added advantage. • THIS JOB DESCRIPTION IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND THE WORKER MAY BE REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE OTHER APPROPRIATE DUTIES
