Adara Development is committed to improving Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) outcomes in Uganda by strengthening health systems and ensuring the availability and sustainability of life-saving medical equipment. We are seeking to recruit a skilled and passionate Biomedical Engineer to support Adara Newborn partner facilities.

Location: Kiwoko Hospital, Nakaseke District, Uganda
Employment status: 1 year contract -3 days per week (0.6 FTE)
Reports to: Deputy Director of Maternal Newborn Child Health
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for:
- Installing and maintaining Adara-supplied neonatal and maternal health equipment
Building facility capacity through training, mentorship, and practical tools - Promoting safe, preventive, and sustainable equipment use to improve maternal and newborn outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a related field 3-5 years’ experience in medical equipment installation and maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge of neonatal and maternal biomedical equipment, with hands-on troubleshooting experience
Familiarity with Uganda’s healthcare regulations and safety standards - Strong communication and training skills and ability to work under pressure.
