KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accounts Payable (AP) Deliverables:
• Monitor the AP email to ensure all invoices with supporting documents are uploaded and respond promptly to supplier queries.
• Adhere to the three-way matching principle (LPO, invoice, and delivery note/WCC) before uploading invoices for payment.
• Ensure vendors promptly share invoices uploaded to the URA EFRIS system for payment processing.
• Prepare and circulate the Invoice Tracker Report weekly to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor the P-card tracker to ensure all P-card expenditures are tracked at every approval stage.
• Update settlement status for all P-card users weekly.
• Ensure all expenditures comply with the P-card policy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all P-card-related matters.
• Treasury Deliverables:
• Match invoices against payments (spreading) and share reports with stakeholders.
• Act as a stand-in for Treasury Assistants during their leave.
• Key Challenges
• Delayed return of invoices from cost center holders.
• Incorrect allocation of expenses.
• High volume of transport bills to process.
• Handling urgent payment requests.
• Managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close pressures.
• Addressing over/under accrual on freight.
• Managing sundry supply accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) at Level 2.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable, treasury, or related finance roles.
• Job Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of VAT accounting, the VAT Act, and ability to differentiate between standard-rated, exempt, and zero-rated items.
• Proficiency in reconciliations and data manipulation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of Uganda and/or international tax laws.
