KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordination and Representation
• Support the Prevention and Capacity Building Officer in coordinating with local partners, community leaders, para-social workers, and community-based structures.
• Participate in field-level coordination meetings to align prevention activities with other protection interventions.
• Strengthen referral systems and ensure prevention work aligns with established protection mechanisms.
• Project Implementation and Capacity Building
• Deliver prevention activities, including GBV/CP risk awareness, adolescent life skills, and positive parenting sessions.
• Facilitate group PSS sessions with community mentors and partners.
• Train and coach local partners and community structures on prevention methodologies and group facilitation.
• Observe community-led sessions, providing structured mentoring and feedback.
• Support partners and community structures for progressive takeover of prevention activities per the localization strategy.
• Ensure adherence to DRC protection standards, guidelines, and accountability frameworks.
• Monitoring, Reporting, and Learning
• Monitor prevention and capacity building activities, tracking progress, conducting quality checks, and documenting lessons learned.
• Provide inputs for weekly and monthly reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and capacity needs.
• Document good practices and challenges in the handover process for learning and adaptation.
• Staff Development and Supervision
• Uphold DRC’s Code of Conduct and accountability principles.
• Receive technical orientation and supervision from the Prevention and Capacity Building Officer.
• Participate in internal training to enhance facilitation and mentoring skills.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in protection programming (prevention and response) with vulnerable communities.
• Professional training in Gender-Based Violence.
• Basic counseling and case management skills for handling disclosures and safe referrals.
• Experience with UN or NGOs.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong communication, training, and awareness-raising skills.
• Computer literacy and basic management skills.
• Familiarity with UN-funded project Monitoring & Evaluation is desirable.
• Knowledge of government adolescent life skills, positive parenting modules, and para-social worker manuals is a strong advantage.
