KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implementation of People plan and Agenda in line with the companywide HR and assigned Business Unit strategy. • Enabling and Reporting on the changing needs and the future needs of the assigned Business unit and HR Functional • support area to deliver commercially focused HR solutions to add-value. • Coordinate HR practices & objectives that will provide an employee-oriented and high performing superior workforce in assigned function and HR functional area. • Provide pro-active HR services covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle. I mplementation of the various HR services across the HR employee cycle within assigned BU specifically, resourcing, on boarding, separation and off boarding, talent management, performance management, learning & needs analysis, management of informal grievance and providing line support for disciplinary processes. Ensuring the experience at every touch point is value adding. • Put in place initiatives to proactively gain assigned Business Units feedback to enable the HR function improve service levels. • Equip Business units and assigned functional areas with appropriate people management tools and knowledge to effectively manage at the line level e.g. performance management, talent management, career management etc. • Manage people change and support while building change capacity and capability within business unit. • Manage relevant assigned Business Unit headcount, workforce planning and people data. • Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing Employee Relations (ER) initiatives, plans and issues within business Unit assigned. • Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing Employee wellness initiatives and plans within business Unit assigned. • Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing partnerships with HR Resourcing and Recruitment Agencies for business unit assigned. • Prepare Monthly reports and other relevant reports requited via line manager and submit these to HR for action. • Key Performance Areas • Effective implementation of HR Services to assigned functions • Reporting on changing business needs & PPP Implementation • Positioning MTN Uganda’s Employee Value Proposition • A high-performance culture within assigned functions • Effective delivery on HR core functions within assigned functions • Implementation of HR interventions/improvements per objectives. • Employee Development & Effective partnerships • Provision of Project Management Support • Engaged Staff within assigned functions

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• A Degree in HR/ Industrial Psychology/ Social Science or a related field • Post Graduate Training in Human Resources/Development. • Master’s Degree in HRM or HRD would be an added advantage • Work Experience • 5 years in HR Management, Resource Planning & Employee Relations • Exposure in a Telecoms environment or multi-national companies • Experience working in roles or projects where interaction with Senior leadership is required • Experience of effective influencing and coaching at the senior manager level • Experience of managing organizational change • COMPETENCIES • Ability to manage own time and workload and juggle conflicting priorities • Demonstrate evidence of influencing and coaching skills • Professional approach with a can-do attitude • Courage Skills- Manages self and team performance, good conflict management, takes and manages accountability • Energy & Drive – Innovative, takes initiative, result oriented and develops self consistently • Interpersonal Skills – Leadership, customer centricity, collaborative and coaches & develops direct reports • Personal Skills – Trustworthy, integrity and ethical in dealings • Operating Skills – Ability to focus on priorities and plans, manages and monitors work effectively • Organisational Positioning Skills – Good written and verbal communication, commitment to the organization • Strategic Skills – Global thinker, Analytical thinking and Problem-solving abilities.
