KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Technical Responsibilities:
• Support the development and implementation of community level action plans addressing the gender specific needs and barriers prioritized from the gender and power analysis findings.
• Organize and deliver training sessions for women leaders on effective participation in leadership and decision-making processes, focusing on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), climate adaptation and sustainable resource management.
• Facilitate engagement meetings with stakeholders with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), local government officials and community leaders to support women’s access to land and follow up on agreed action plans
• Coordinate community dialogues and awareness sessions on topics that promote positive masculinity, gender social norms, women’s leadership and the inclusion of women in land and resource access rights.
• Organize community dialogues with community, cultural and religious leaders to address harmful gender norms and reduce gender-based violence (GBV) in communities.
• Mobilize women for literacy, numeracy and leadership training for female community members to improve their participation in community decision making spaces.
• Develop and disseminate information on land rights, policies and laws, ensuring that women and vulnerable groups understand their rights.
• Conduct annual safety audits to assess and mitigate risks for women in project activities, particularly in agriculture and natural resource management.
• Support Women and girls to participate in international events to advocate and influence policies i.e International Women’s Day, World Refugee Day, 16 days of activism.
• Partnership and capacity support
• Work closely with the partners and local governments to ensure the integration of gender-responsive leadership and decision-making processes in local governance and community structures
• Staff Development and Management
• Support the Resilience Programme Manager by providing technical backstopping and regular support supervision to community structures to ensure gender responsive planning, implementation, and reporting while addressing identified gaps and needs.
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Identify, document, and disseminate relevant project successes, and challenges, and follow up on the implementation of the Project’s action points.
• Participate in quarterly Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and District monitoring project reviews and evaluations.
• Work with the MEAL team to ensure DRC MEAL requirements are met.
• Participate in learning reflections and events.
• Reporting
• Provide project data and information for the preparation of donor reports, e.g. monthly highlights, and quarterly and annual reports.
• On request, perform any other additional duties assigned by the supervisors to allow the organization to function optimally.

• About you
• To be successful in this role, you are expected to have a minimum of 3 years of full-time, relevant professional experience in implementing gender-focused programs, preferably in agriculture, climate resilience, or community development projects, within a local or international non-governmental organization (INGO). Moreover, we also expect the following.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development studies or any related fields.
• Strong understanding of gender dynamics within rural and refugee affected areas, particularly in the context of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and environment management.
• Proven experience in facilitating community training, dialogues, and working with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities and cultural leaders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills
• Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of different sectors of the community, tradition, culture, beliefs and refugee/host community hierarchical structures.
• Relevant work experience from Northern Uganda.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential Knowledge of one or more of the local languages widely spoken in the covered Districts.
